This activity further explores the concept of the megacookie through spending quality time with your child(ren). Get some cookie-making supplies and let’s get started!

First, choose a cookie recipe. You can find lots of them online by searching for ‘cookie recipe’, or use your own!

Next, read Section Two of Imagine Cities about megacities with your child(ren). Talk about the questions posed in the exhibit.

Then, make megacookies with your child(ren). When the cookies are cooled, look at them together. Discuss the following questions:

• Did any of the cookies grow together? How are they like cities?
• Do the cookies all look the same?
• (Taste some cookies.) Do they taste the same?
• How are cookies like people?

People are like cookies, too—each one is unique, but they are all wonderful!
